You’re no fool, are you?
Who Can Find Wisdom?
===
God understands the way to it, and he alone knows [wisdom’s] place. For he looks to the ends of the earth and observes everything under the heavens.
Job 28:23-24 (NET)
===
I encourage you to read through all of chapter 28.
Job spends a good deal of time talking about how valuable wisdom is yet struggles with where people can find it.
Who knows where to find wisdom?
God alone.
He is the creator of all things, including wisdom.
We hear a lot about wisdom from the book of Proverbs. Yet Job is considered a wisdom book as well -- so are Psalms, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon.
All wisdom books.
All designed to share the wisdom of heaven with the people of earth.
Wisdom is both hidden and revealed.
Kind of a paradox. But we see that God hides wisdom from the foolish. They must seek it out, put in some work, before they can find it.
Much of wisdom is gained in the journey itself.
We also have the revealed Word of God sharing His wisdom directly. Although it can still be foolishness to those who are lost and without the Holy Spirit to guide them.
That’s why many high IQ unbelievers are still so foolish.
If we’re not seeking a relationship with God, what are we even doing?
That’s eternal foolishness.
Avoid that.
