Work Hard for the Lord
He’s the best boss ever!
===
Whatever you are doing, work at it with enthusiasm, as to the Lord and not for people, because you know that you will receive your inheritance from the Lord as the reward. Serve the Lord Christ.
Colossians 3:23-24 (NET)

I’ve had some bad bosses in my time.
Of course, now I’m self-employed, meaning I have the best & worst boss ever! (haha)
But no matter who I’m working for, I must always remember that the work I do is, ultimately, for God’s glory.
I know it’s hard to feel motivated to do great work for a bad boss.
I get that.
So this verse has helped me in those times to work hard despite my struggles with working for someone I don’t like/respect.
Thankfully, God is the best boss.
Sure, He always knows what we’re up to so we need to honor our time working for Him. (The only all-knowing boss out there.)
Also, He gives us grace when we fail and help when we need it.
I prayed for a lot of wisdom over the years.
I’ve also spent time crying out for help when I faced a complicated problem at work and I needed an answer to get through it. God’s good about helping out in those times of trouble.
What’s also cool is that there’s a promise here of a reward in heaven for our good work.
Of course this isn’t a salvation thing, this is for those who are already believers and are being honored for their work after passing Judgement Day.
Just as a good father will give a good inheritance as a reward to his children, our heavenly Father wants to also give His adopted children an inheritance.
So, honor God with your work today.
