Together, Glorify God
How to ensure God says “Yes” to your prayers more often
===
Now may the God of endurance and comfort give you unity with one another in accordance with Christ Jesus, so that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 15:5-6 (NET)

This is part of the ending of Paul’s letter to the Church in Rome.
He is signing off here with a blessing.
Blessings are powerful throughout the Bible.
They are much more than hopes and wishes for the people.
We often sign off regular goodbyes with a “take care” or “good luck.” Those farewells are merely hopes and wishes. Not a bad thing, but this verse is so much more.
It’s a public prayer to God requesting His favor on His people.
Because this farewell lines up with other Scripture, it’s likely that God will fulfill this blessing.
We know that Jesus prayed for unity in the Church during His High Priestly prayer in John 17.
(Where He prayed for us too! I love that!)
So, Paul is doing what any good disciple of Christ would: aligning his own hopes & desires with that of God, as shown in the Scriptures.
It’s a good idea to pray verses of the Bible, not just our own thoughts & words.
I like to do this when I’m feeling challenged. Holding up verses that God has put in His Word and asking Him to do the same for me.
(Of course, all within the appropriate context of the verses.)
I do this because I have this funny little desire of wanting to actually see God answer prayer with a “Yes” as much as possible.
And if He already wrote it, it’s likely He’ll answer it with a “Yes” again.
