This leaves me nearly speechless
As Far as the East from the West
===
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
Psalm 103:11-12 (ESV)

Poetry is designed to paint a picture with words.
Well, it’s more than that, because it’s really designed to get you to feel something.
That can go much deeper than just seeing it in your mind’s eye.
God wants us to feel the vastness of His love for us.
We can barely comprehend how high the heavens are above the earth. I mean we just sent four humans the furthest from earth anyone has ever been and watched them come back safely.
Around the moon and back.
Astonishing.
Yet even as impressive as that is, it still completely fails to compare to God’s great love for us.
Jesus demonstrated that love.
And the Lord promises to remove our transgressions (i.e., sins) as far as the east from the west.
Which is, of course, an infinite distance.
Because you can never reach the ending of east or west. You can only change direction.
And if you think about that hard enough, you’ll reach the end of your own comprehension.
God is greater than all we could possibly imagine. And equally good.
Thinking and writing about this is threatening to make my brain explode.
🤯
Yes, I feel a lot of deep emotions around this and it leaves me nearly speechless.
