Think about this today
All God’s Promises Fulfilled
===
Not one word of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.
Joshua 21:45 (ESV)
===
Every once in a while I need a verse like this.
I like to be reminded of how amazing God is and how much He loves His children and always takes good care of them.
Not one promise failed … wow!
It’s not like these were a bunch of tiny, insignificant promises either.
Joshua is a book filled with the battles of Israel as the go in to take the Promised Land.
Sure, there were mistakes along the way. I think about the mistaken covenant they made with the Gibeonites who deceived them. Which could have been avoided if they bothered to ask God for wisdom instead of deciding things on their own.
Lesson in that.
On the whole, the Israelites relied on God to fight on their behalf, even doing mighty miracles for them.
Such as the time that Joshua prayed for the sun to stand still so that their enemies would not escape in the night.
An impossible prayer.
Yet with God all things are possible.
And here they are, nearing the end of Joshua’s life and the campaign to claim the Promised Land, and they reflect on the journey God took them on.
Whenever I reflect on what God has brought me through, I can also say that He is always good and never fails me.
It might be encouraging for you to take some time today and think about how good God has been to you.
