So you have the full armor of God … now what?
The Armor of God (Part 6)
===
With every prayer and petition, pray at all times in the Spirit, and to this end be alert, with all perseverance and petitions for all the saints.
Ephesians 6:18 (NET)
===
Where’s the battlefield?
It’s easy to think that it’s just the temptations of life and the attacks from the Enemy.
Yet we see that Paul immediately pivots to prayer.
Prayer is also the battlefield.
It must be, otherwise why would he place it here AND tell us to be alert?
Only makes sense that we should be relying on the armor of God in our prayers.
No matter how limited we are physically, we can ALWAYS pray.
In fact, prayer isn’t the least we can do -- it’s probably the most we can do.
Look at the descriptions of praying in here:
Prayer. Petition. At all times. In the Spirit. Be alert. With all perseverance. For all the saints.
Seven.
That’s almost a full-time spiritual job.
We need prayer warriors holding their shields high on behalf of their fellow saints.
I’m lucky enough to have had several prayer warriors supporting me throughout my life.
But I cannot rest there. I must also become a prayer warrior supporting others throughout my life.
The baton must always be passed.
No one stays on earth forever … yet.
But that’s a message for a different day.
Today?
Pray hard. Pray often. Pray powerfully in the Spirit. Pray alertly. Pray for one another.
