Seek Godโs Kingdom (Part 3)

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

All right, so how do we seek Godโs righteousness?
As an investment strategy for my life, I want to plant seeds of righteousness that will bring in a good harvest of fruit.
So, naturally, this harvest is the fruit of the Spirit.
As a reminder, the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Back when I was in seminary, I did an extensive study on this in Greek class. My conclusion was that this fruit was like a cluster of grapes: one single cluster of fruit attached to the Vine.
Not a cornucopia of fruit to pick and choose from.
Anyway, the best way Iโve found to invest in this fruit is by โฆ
Spending time with God in the Word and in prayer.
When I spend more and more time digging into the Word โ listening, reading, studying, memorizing, and meditating โ I find myself slowly being transformed by it.
Similarly, time spent praying is time knitting my soul with Godโs, so that the things He cares about I begin to care about too.
What I need to be careful of is becoming paralyzed by the journey of where I ought to be in my walk with Christ and be content with simply taking one more step forward with God. Meaning, Iโll often neglect doing anything because I want to be perfect, when reality is that Iโm never going to be perfect this side of heaven, and I should just take one more step.
All right, one more step tomorrow.
