Seek God’s Kingdom (Part 1)
How to get the best ROI possible for eternity
===
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Matthew 6:33 (ESV)

One of the main ways that I make money is in the stock market.
I wouldn’t necessarily call myself an “investor,” I think of myself more of a short-term “trader.”
So I get a little jazzed up when I see verses like this that talk about ROI — i.e., return on investment. And Jesus here is telling us that the best way to get an eternal ROI is …
Investing in God’s Kingdom and His righteousness.
Practically, what kind of “investments” should we be making?
Joining in the work of the Father.
In Experiencing God (a bible study I highly recommend, and I should probably go through again), Henry Blackaby talks about how God is always at work around us and we should find out where He’s at work and …
Join Him!
I know, crazy concept.
But the trap I often find myself in — and maybe you do too — is where I look around and think to myself, “Here’s a good thing for me to do. ‘God, I’m going to go do this thing and will you please bless it?’”
Which is not only foolish, it’s extremely arrogant.
How, in my very limited wisdom, could I possibly know if my idea of good work will actually produce good results?
There are simply too many unknown variables for me to accurately predict the outcome.
Thus, if I want to actually make an impact for God’s Kingdom, then I should humble myself and seek His guidance on where He wants me to go to work.
All right, more tomorrow.
