Romans Road to Salvation: Stop #4 (Free from Sin)
I’m walkin’ on Sonshine, oh-oh

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
Romans 8:1-2 (ESV)
===
Here’s where freedom in Christ begins:
Walking as one who is no longer burdened by the weight of sin and shame of guilt. Jesus, the perfect Son of God, has covered sin for anyone who places their faith in Him.
This coverage is also perfect.
In a way, Paul — the writer of Romans — tells us that we are now citizens of a new land, and bound to follow a new law.
A “law of the Spirit of life.”
The reason our Bibles capitalize Spirit there is because it’s not just an ethereal presence … the Spirit of life is the Holy Spirit, the third member of the Trinity (God the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit).
In other verses, the Bible shares how the Spirit now lives within us as disciples of Christ.
And He guides us along our new journey as citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven.
Because of the work of Christ, we can reject the citizenship of sin & death. We are no longer bound along the path of destruction — the pathway to hell.
We are walking with the Son on the road to eternal life.
This is the most wonderful news in all the universe!
So, how do you go about accepting this wonderful news and making Christ the lord — The Boss — of your life (and, thus, experience the pure joy of walking in the freedom of Christ)?
Stay tuned because stop #5, the final stop, will show you how.
See you here tomorrow.
