On making hard decisions
The Lord’s Will Be Done
===
Because he could not be persuaded, we said no more except, “The Lord’s will be done.”
Acts 21:14 (NET)
===
Paul seemed to be a stubborn man.
Which was probably good for the sake of sending the Gospel into hard places.
He was on a mission and nobody but God was going to get in his way.
Yes, even in stubbornness we can make room for the Lord’s will to be done.
Most of life is filled with struggles, hard questions, and few answers. We do our best to walk the path of righteousness, not always sure if the choices we make are the right ones.
I try and remind myself of the promise in Romans 8:
That God works out all things for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
I can trust that the decisions I make as a child of God can be worked out for good.
Granted, I want to be making the best decisions possible.
But even the very wise cannot see all ends.
I certainly can’t.
But I have a loving Father who takes care of me, who’s plans will be accomplished.
So, when I come to those trials in life and I do not know whether the right hand path or the left hand path is the correct one, I can simply choose one and trust God with the rest.
After all:
The Lord’s will be done.
