Loudly Praising God
šÆļø Bright lights & loud noises
===
Then one of them, when he saw he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice.
Luke 17:15 (NET)

This is perhaps a strange verse for me to pick.
It deals with the story of Jesus healing ten men from leprosy (a very contagious skin disease).
Yet only one of them actually turns back to thank Jesus for this miraculous work.
And then he goes off and praises God with a loud voice.
Shouldnāt this be the kind of reaction we give to God all the time?
I say that more as a question Iām asking myself (and why I picked out this verse) than I do as an indictment on us. Obviously, we donāt want to be rude people who disrupt others all the time.
For everything there is a time and place.
But maybe this idea of loudly praising God should happen more often in our lives.
If I were to draw out a bigger principle:
I should spend more time sharing the wonderful things God has done for me with others.Ā
It reminds me of the old Sunday School childrenās song:
This little light of mine,
Iām gonna let it shine.
ā¦
Hide it under a bushelāNO!
Iām gonna let it shine.
What would it look like if I did more light shining and less bushel hiding?
Maybe we end up as an inspiring character in Godās story. Kind of like the man healed of leprosy is for thousands of people throughout thousands of years.
Thatās a bright shining light.
