Jude’s Blessing to the Church
This one may take you more than a minute … sorry-not-sorry
===
Now to the one who is able to keep you from falling, and to cause you to stand, rejoicing, without blemish before his glorious presence, to the only God our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, power, and authority, before all time, and now, and for all eternity. Amen.
Jude 24-25 (NET)
===
I often struggle with the words to honor God in my prayers.
Jesus gives us the model prayer, beginning with our acknowledgment of God the Father and glorifying His name.
These verses from Jude are good ones for doing just that.
Only Jesus’ perfect work on the cross will allow us to stand without blemish before God’s glorious presence.
Of course the good news of the Gospel is that His work is substituted for us, if we place our faith in Him.
Then it’s the work of the Holy Spirit molding us more and more into Christ. Keeping us from falling, causing us to stand, rejoicing. Without His amazing work we could not spiritually mature.
I don’t have time to dig into each description at the end, but they are all well worth reflecting on:
Glory
Majesty
Power
Authority
Before all time
Now
For all eternity
I encourage you to take some time and picture each of these words as they relate to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
I think it’s good to stand (or sit) in awe of God from time to time.
Today is a good day to do just that.
