God’s Provision
You don’t need to raid the supply closet
===
And my God will supply your every need according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19 (NET)
===
Yesterday I talked about the faith step of giving your first profits to God.
Today, is the confident promise that God will supply our every need.
This, of course, goes beyond the needs of money. We all have emotional needs, energy needs, time needs, relationship needs, etc.
Christ is rich and generous. He can, and will, supply our needs.
It’s the most logical thing in the world, for a good God to provide for His children. He already demonstrated a radical love for us by taking our place on the executioner’s cross, bearing our sin & shame, and offering us new life with Him.
Why would he abandon us in a time of need?
He won’t.
Now, there is one big caveat:
Sometimes bad things happen to God’s children. And this is all part of the unfortunate breaking of creation, a consequence of sin existing in our universe.
God, in His patience & wisdom, is waiting to bring all things back to perfection. Where sin & death are no more.
He won’t let us live forever in a broken situation, that would be cruel (again, a note: this is only true for His redeemed children, hell does exist for those who reject God).
So, take heart.
Whatever situation you’re in, God will provide your needs.
