Fond memories from the summer of 2010

So back in 2010 I spent my summer up in Colorado doing a discipleship training program.

It was a neat deal where everyone lived together in the dorms, cooked meals together, lived life together, dug into the Scriptures, and all while working a 40-hour per week job.

The theme verse for that summer was this one.

Making it one of the very few verses I’ve memorized because someone else suggested it.

Most verses I memorize are because they jumped out at me during a message or a quiet time.

I find that memorizing verses that way speeds up my memorization process. I actually have trouble memorizing verses when they are “given” to me.

This one was no different.

It took a while for me to memorize it (though, thankfully, we had the whole summer).

I’m glad I did because it’s a good one.

But also a challenge.

Can I say that I work with all wisdom to warn and teach everyone I possibly can?

Paul indicates that when he was working on the mission field, he was working hard at it.

I tend to take a more leisurely approach to life, and that comes out in my slow-and-steady working pace, too. I don’t like to rush things.

All that to say, I’ve got areas to improve when it comes to working hard at sharing the Gospel.

I’ll dig deeper on this tomorrow.
