God’s Faithful Love
Imagery so good that I’m at a loss for words
===
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39 (NET)
===
These are such great verses.
I know that as a fickle human who fails to follow God much more often than I want, I’m grateful for God’s faithful love displayed here.
Paul uses poetic language here to cover the gamut of God’s love.
Most of them are pretty easy to understand, but “powers” could be a little odd.
Most Biblical scholars understand “powers” here as the demonic powers that fight against us.
So, you know, good thing that they can’t separate us from God’s love.
…
Honestly, I really don’t have much to say on this.
Sure, there’s a lot I could talk about, but I’d rather just sit and soak in the lovely message here.
So, with that in mind, I encourage you to read through those verses again. Slowly. Thinking about each descriptor that Paul highlights that cannot separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
And may your day be blessed.
