God Never Changes (Part 2)
To boldly pray like no one has prayed before
===
God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
Numbers 23:19 (ESV)

God keeps His promises.
I suppose I could stop this email right there and let you soak on those words. That would probably be enough for today …
Okay, I’ll give you a little more.
Here’s one of my favorite stories about prayer:
A sweet old lady had been walking with God for decades. She was telling a friend of mine about how she sometimes prays “aggressively” to God. What she’ll do is find a promise God has made in the Bible and then boldly ask for that promise.
When I say boldly, I mean she’ll hold up the Bible, point to that verse, and tell God, “Look, you say [this promise] right here. It’s your own words. Well, I want that to be true of me today.”
Wow.
How incredible must her relationship be that she could go to her loving Father and boldly ask for such things?
(And if you’re a little concerned about this type of boldness, then take a gander through Luke 11 and 18 and see what Jesus taught us about praying boldly to our heavenly Father.)
This woman knew that God has given us His Word, and she was simply holding God to His own high standards. Of course, it’s important to have the right attitude and a right understanding of the meaning of those Scriptures … but don’t let that delay a good prayer life.
In other words, pray boldly & according to the Bible.
I’d be interested in hearing what God does with that bold prayer.
