“Get off your lazy butt!”
Stop Talking, Start Working
===
In all hard work there is profit, but merely talking about it only brings poverty.
Proverbs 14:23 (NET)
===
You can file this under “preaching to myself.”
Although I suppose most of these little letters are in that category.
Regardless, I’m a classic overthinker. And I’ll spend far more time analyzing a problem than I will just getting to work on solving it.
There is no holy grail when it comes to fixing problems.
What I mean is, even if there is a best way to fix a problem, good enough is… well… good enough.
I suppose it’s a bit ironic to wax poetically in an email like this when the point is to encourage you to just get off your butt and take some action.
If you need a classic gym coach to yell at you, then here goes:
📢 “Get off your lazy butt and take some action!”
There’s another proverb about people cursing a loud voice early in the morning.
Since I send these out early, you might now put me in that category.
🤣
But, you know what?
I need a good gym coach yell from time to time.
It works wonders to motivate me to do the things I know to do.
Despite all the problems we face in the world, rarely are we stuck because we lack the information. Now we’re in the age of AI where you can ask it for info and it magically appears.
Clearly, action is the problem, not information.
Do yourself a favor and start taking action -- even if it’s the wrong action you can quickly correct. It’s almost guaranteed to be faster than overthinking.
