Don’t forget about these special people
Service of the Saints

Now I urge you, brothers—you know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints—
1 Corinthians 16:15 (ESV)

When it comes to following the Great Commandments (love your neighbor as yourself) we often think of serving the lost.
Maybe it’s charitable giving toward crisis pregnancy centers … or volunteering time at a soup kitchen … donating goods … or any number of things.
If you’re led to do those, then keep doing them.
But don’t forget the family of God that has needs around you.
Top of mind are the ministry workers who rely on support for their income.
They are often on the front lines of the Gospel, sharing the good news of Jesus in a lost world.
What stands out to me about this verse, and the reason I picked it out on this most recent read through the Bible, is the devotion to serving the saints.
Not serving the lost, or their community … the believers.
I hadn’t thought about having an entire ministry devoted to serving those fellow believers as they serve the world.
I probably should have thought about it, but it had, somehow, slipped past me.
But this is something I feel attached to.
Who needs more help than the frontline soldiers?
They’re the ones beaten, battered, and bruised by the spiritual battles. They’re taking flak from the Enemy. What an amazing ministry to be someone who comes alongside them, encourages them, and renews their spirit for the next fight!
Maybe this is just a personal thing for me.
Or maybe this is the kind of thing that excites you too.
Either way, remember to serve your family members.
