Christ Died for All
Hey, I’ve got some good news for ya
===
Consequently, just as condemnation for all people came through one transgression, so too through the one righteous act came righteousness leading to life for all people.
Romans 5:18 (NET)
===
This is a bit complicated for early morning thinking.
Lots of big words.
Basically, it’s saying that Adam’s sin broke our relationship with God and we all inherit that brokenness; yet Christ’s actions on the cross can cover all our sin and lead to eternal life for all of us.
This is the Good News.
Of course, God still gives all of us a choice.
We can choose to accept this act of righteousness that Christ did in place of our sin. Or we can choose to reject this act of righteousness.
I’m gonna assume that you’ve chosen to accept.
So, what can we do with this verse today?
For one thing, it can remind us of the mission we have while still on earth.
God didn’t hear our acceptance of salvation and immediately sweep us into heaven.
Nope.
He’s now added us to a missionary team and we have a calling to share this Good News with the world.
A simple way to do that:
Talk with people about their problems. Really dig into the reality of the brokenness of life. Then we can identify with struggling through problems on our own, yet we found a solution.
Well, not a solution, a Savior.
And now we have a relationship with this Savior and get to share the Good News with others.
I don’t want to be too specific because I’m a fan of using your own story to fuel all of this. It feels more real.
Of course, if you want a tool, I like The Bridge Illustration.
