Be Humble (Part 2)
Michelangelo’s got nothing on this master sculptor
===
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:6-7 (ESV)

Perhaps the most incredible aspect of God is His desire to have a relationship with us — with you and with me.
We can see this from the very beginning: where God speaks the entire universe into existence over the course of six days.
Yet, when He makes man, it’s different.
He reaches into the ground, and, like a master craftsman, molds mankind into shape. It takes time and effort.
And then, rather than speaking life into the man, God does something even more intimate: like the loving Father that He is, he bends down and breathes life into humanity. It’s a kiss of life…
A display of love.
God is not aloof to His children, He wants to be intimately involved in our lives.
Thus, He invites us to cast all our anxieties upon Him because He cares for us.
I’m often overwhelmed by the cares and burdens of my life. And I certainly don’t have the wisdom to look into the future and see the right path for me to take. But I’m grateful for having a loving, heavenly Father who wants me to share my concerns and trust Him with them.
It’s freedom.
Whenever I do give God my burdens, I feel as if the weight of them is lifted off my shoulders. Like a fifty pound backpack is off and I am free to run.
If you’re carrying a burden today, I encourage you to give it to God and trust Him with it.
