Be Content
God always comes through

Your conduct must be free from the love of money and you must be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you and I will never abandon you.”
Hebrews 13:5 (NET)

The final chapter of Hebrews reads like a conclusion to a sermon.
In fact, the whole letter of Hebrews reads more like a sermon message than just a letter.
If you’ve never sat down and just read through the entire letter in one sitting — or listened to it — I recommend it. I found it eye opening.
Anyway, this is an important one on relying on God.
Jesus talked about not worrying about tomorrow (i.e., relying on God for our everyday needs) in His Sermon on the Mount.
I think that the author was thinking about this when writing this verse.
That we can rely on God’s faithfulness to sustain us.
Obviously, we need to watch out for creating an idol of money in our hearts.
Greed and selfishness can drive us to do more sinful things and put a wedge between us and God.
(I mean, sin does that anyway.)
It takes trust and humility to be patient and rely on God, especially when times are tough and we don’t know how he will take care of us.
That can be a stressful time.
But God is always faithful. He always comes through.
I once had a ministry mentor say, “I’ve never been at full support, but I’ve always been fully supported.”
It’s been 15 years since I heard him say that and it still impacts me today.
