A powerful reason why you can reject fear
Giving God’s Kingdom

“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is well pleased to give you the kingdom.”
Luke 12:32 (NET)

I love how Jesus always meets us where we are.
He’s laying out some hard truths about life, yet He’s gentle enough to encourage us too.
Fear is obviously a big struggle for many people because God spends so much time exhorting us to not be afraid.
Even here, Jesus tells His little flock not to fear.
But if He stopped at just “don’t be afraid,” then it wouldn’t have the power behind it to encourage us. Instead, He gives us a reason why we don’t need to fear.
In this case, it’s because the Father is pleased to give His children the Kingdom.
I think we see Paul have this attitude lived out.
In his letter to Philippians, Paul shows us that to live is Christ and dying is gain.
What can this be other than Paul accepting the keys to the Kingdom and using that reality to motivate him along his journey?
The encouragement we can take for today is that God protects His children.
Even if that protection is shortened here on the earth, we are protected eternally from damnation & hell because of the work that the Son, Jesus, did on the cross.
No need to fear for our eternal future.
God’s already given His children the Kingdom.
And any good citizen of the Kingdom will work to please the King.
How can you do that for Jesus today?
