A message for your life’s circumstances
Slow to Anger
===
The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
Psalm 103:8 (ESV)
===
No one is patient like God is patient.
I’m immensely thankful for that.
I bet you’re thankful for that, too.
Even though there are examples of the righteous anger of God in the Old Testament, we also see His patience on display.
Abraham made some bone-headed mistakes (not trusting God in a couple life-or-death circumstances). Yet God used him to bless all the peoples of the earth.
Or, at least, that’s the promise.
We already read yesterday about how God doesn’t fail to keep His promises.
Anyway.
I also think about Moses’s training program to lead the Israelite people.
Specifically:
40 years being educated in the premier royalty of the day
Exile after committing murder and then finding a family
40 years herding sheep -- extremely dumb animals
All to spend another 40 years herding the Israelites through the wilderness.
Through it all, God was with Him.
No matter what difficult -- or joyful -- circumstance you face today, God is with you too.
Patiently guiding you in righteousness.
